Be the best that you can be everyday in every way

SuperSelf Jump-starts Each Day With Thanks

Success in our daily lives means there are some things that we need to do consistently to feel good, do good and look good every day. Starting each day out being mindful of your body, mind, and spirit is not difficult.  This is what I do to jump-start my day.

Before I even get out of bed, I give thanks!  I keep it simple.  With my head still on my pillow, I just say “thank you for this new day”.  Then sitting up on the side of my bed with my feet flat on the floor, I do a couple of easy foot exercises.…. I call them foot rolls. Lifting my feet slightly off the floor, I twist/roll my feet to the left and then to the right several times. When I can feel my legs and feet, I stand up to do ten stretches, reaching up to the ceiling slowly alternating each arm grabbing or reaching for the stars so to speak. While doing this, I say to myself, “there is not anything that I can’t handle today, and I am going to be exceptional or at my best”.

Next, I bend over, stretching downward with each hand grabbing an ankle for a few seconds (to a slow count of ten). I do about three of these.  Then standing straight up, with my arms stretched out on each side of my body, I roll my arms forward thirty times, then I roll them backward thirty times. I repeat these arm rolls in sets of three.

Lastly, I put my hands on my waist to do about sixty side twists, rotating from side to side quickly. That’s it, now I am ready to jump in the shower.

This is how I kick start my day!  I also exercise at the gym for at least forty-five minutes three times a week. Consistency is key to being at your best, every day, in every way and at every age.

Professional athletes like a former basketball star, now businessman Michael Jordan; and other positive people like Oprah Winfrey; Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo; Darren Hardy, Author, speaker, mentor and former publisher of SUCCESS magazine; and many others exceptional in their field, consistently practice a positive morning regime that helps prepare them for their day.

If you invest ten to fifteen minutes consistently each morning to prepare your body, mind, and spirit for your day, you’ll find the return of this small investment to be a good one. You may need to get up a few minutes earlier, but, this too is a good thing!!

Forget all the reasons it won’t work and believe the one reason that it will and be thankful!

Be bold and bloom. SuperSelf is you at your best!
